Sam’s Club partners with Instacart to offer same-day delivery of groceries

Walmart’s division Sam’s Club has joined hands with Instacart to offer same-day delivery of groceries and everyday essentials to households in various markets throughout the US.

As per the partnership, Instacart will provide same-day delivery services for Sam’s Club users in Austin and Dallas-Fort Worth in Texas and St. Louis in Missouri.

Customers are required to fill in the virtual carts with products ranging from meat, frozen foods to everyday essentials including exclusive, premium-quality Member’s Mark products and small appliances.

Instacart will deliver the products straight to customers' doorstep in as little as an hour.

Sam’s Club’s Omnichannel and In-Club Product vice president Sachin Padwal said: “We know our members love our mix of exciting items, and appreciate it when we make life a little easier for them. Whether it’s Scan & Go, Club Pickup – and now delivery in as little as an hour– shopping with Sam’s Club is getting easier and more convenient, and we’re just getting started.

“Instacart is a trusted partner by so many customers, we are thrilled to be launching this service with them.”

Instacart customers will have the option to shop at their local Sam’s Club without membership, giving them access to its  savings and bulk shopping options, added with the convenience of same-day delivery.

While Sam’s Club members can save their membership number in the loyalty card section to receive membership rewards and member-only pricing on items.

Instacart business development vice president Sarah Mastrorocco said: "As Instacart continues to expand to new markets and reach new customers at a blistering pace, valued and respected brands such as Sam’s Club are the driving force behind it.

“We are thrilled to add value to their existing operations, while bringing the convenience of same-day delivery to more North Americans every day."

Instacart offers same-day grocery delivery services to its customers for annual charges between $99 and $149 for unlimited deliveries. It also partners with physical retail and grocery store chains to procure the orders from the stores and deliver them to customers.

It has partnered with Costco, CVS Health, Whole Foods Market and it has recently signed up Albertsons and Kroger as its new partners.

Recently, Instacart secured $200m in Series E funding led by Coatue Management, valuing the company at $4.2bn.
